Route 25A is an important part of Long Island and the North Shore. Currently there is a bill in the legislature (Senate Bill S2374 and Assembly Bill A5781) that will establish the North Shore of Long Island as a state designated heritage area.
If passed and implemented this legislation will create a North Shore of Long Island state heritage area planning commission. This is created in order to prepare a management plan.
We need to preserve our important landmarks, roads and buildings in order for our children and our children's children to enjoy these assets (and Route 25A is included). Please call or write your state representatives and tell them to support this legislation.
