Alma G. Schiff, of Oyster Bay, died on April 15, 1998. Wife of the late Jay B. Mother of Jeffrey (Shelly) and Kenneth. Daughter of Marie Scala and the late Salvatore. Sister of Alba McNiece (Robert) and Margaret Garner (James). Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Memorial Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel.

Armida Moore, lifelong resident of Oyster Bay, died on May 1, 1998. She was born in Oyster Bay on March 4, 1916. She contracted polio at birth but threw her leg braces away so that she could climb road signs with her nine brothers and sisters. Her attitude and disposition earned her the nickname "Sunny," a name which she is still known by childhood friends. Hundreds of men and women of all racial and ethnic backgrounds came to call her "mom" in recognition of her decades of volunteer work with the Oyster Bay - East Norwich Youth Club in the '60s and '70s. At the age of 75 and despite her struggle with lupus, she began to teach reading to underprivileged children. On her 80th birthday she received a citation from the Nassau County Legislature for a lifetime of volunteer work. Mrs. Moore is survived by her brothers, John, Anthony and Joseph Rosolino; her sisters, Mary Adomsky and Teresa Abbate; two sons, Robert of Centerport and James of Greer, SC; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and by her dearest friend, Rosie. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic RC Chapel. Interment private.

Cosmo Baldino, 58, of Oyster Bay, died on May 4, 1998. Father of Luann Laera (Alex), Michael G., Denise and Vincent J. Grandfather of Nicholas J. Son of Michelangelo and Lucia. Also survived by many family members and friends. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Donations can be made to the National Leukemia Association, Inc., 585 Stewart Ave., Garden City, NY 11530.

Jane E. Friskey died on May 5, 1998. Wife of the late Edwin. Mother of Melissa, Edwin and Marianne. Grandmother of Wesley Grady III and Jasmyn Grady. Daughter of Miriam Richter. Sister of Bill and Carol Richter. Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Frances Cassino (nee DeMaggio), 81, of East Norwich, died on May 5, 1998. Wife of the late Thomas R. Mother of Linda (Kollar), Thomas A. and Raymond F. Mother-in-law of Donna and Casey. Grandmother of Robbie, Christopher, Tommy, Cheryl, James, Michael and Christopher. Sister of Joe DiMaggio, Mary Putignano, the late Charles and Teddy DiMaggio. Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
