Is it true that Vanderlay Industries is moving to Oyster Bay? Only George Costanza, Jerry Seinfeld, Cosmo Kramer and Elaine Bennis know for sure, but if it does, the company will be welcomed into town by the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce!

Last week, with the finale of the Jerry Seinfeld Show, there was good reason to speculate. This is, speculate about who in your office you would cast as the main characters. It may become a nationwide pastime just like answering questions about how you liked the final episode.
"I liked the part prior to the show," said Greg Koke, Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce president. "It was made of different pieces, but it made its own little story. They created such a family."
"Just like us," said Kathy Wilson, executive director of the chamber.
"I like Jackie Chiles. I like his patois," said Vice President Tom Kuehhas, but he couldn't say he liked the story. "I thought it would be something more creative."
Kathy said, "I liked the flashbacks. I always watch them in re-runs. I like the way they react with each other. The way they say what in real life people often don't."
Tom said this past season they had more duds. "They used to hit in all cylinders."
All agreed the last episode hit on a lot of current events. There was the tie-in with the Lady Diana accident in Paris and their Good Samaritan Law; the videotaping and the Rodney King incident; the O.J. trial with Johnnie Cochran parody.
Tom, director of the Oyster Bay Historical Society wondered if the story would have staying power.
Kathy said in spite of the hype, the show didn't get the numbers in listenership. Cheers and Mash beat them out.
And, as for the trial: "They weren't bad people," said Kathy Wilson. "A lot of their actions reflect reality."
Some people said they didn't deserve to go to prison: a lot of the accusers weren't really nice themselves. The bubble boy wasn't a likable character, neither was the Soup Nazi.
"I liked it," said Matt Gary of Locust Valley. "I know a lot of people didn't like it, but there was so much hype about the show beforehand. I especially liked all the actors making an appearance again. It was good!
"They can do an episode in prison. Using their cell phones to communicate."
So, what is left for us. Trivia questions: "Not that there's anything wrong with that."
