It's a Clean Sweep!

We heard your cries about the condition of our streets. Now we are springing into action to bring about change. We ask you to join us in "Operation Clean Sweep."

Bring your gloves and your broom, a spirit of cooperation and a sense of humor and help us to beautify and clean up downtown Oyster Bay on Sunday, April 26 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The raindate is May 1.

The Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce and volunteers will take to the streets that day. Volunteers will form teams and spread out for those few hours to clean up, plant and beautify the areas of downtown Oyster Bay.

Huckleberry's Cafe will provide free refreshments to the workers and volunteers during the event. The chamber is providing the flowering plants that will be put in by Oyster Bay Girl Scouts.

Our hope is that we will be able to do a substantial cleaning that will enable our residents and visitors to once again take pride in their neighborhood.

To keep the momentum going, various sponsorship opportunities are available. For one sponsor only - for $600 - put a broom with your name on it in every storefront in downtown Oyster Bay - a total of 120 brooms.

For $400 sponsor a garbage receptacle. Your name will appear on the receptacle: "Your name, Helping to Beautify Oyster Bay."

In our quest to have additional flowers and plants in town, "Planter Sponsorships" are available at $200 each. This sponsorship will make available a new planter filled with spring flowers to line the streets.

If that's not enough, a "Presidential Sweep Week" Sponsorship is available for $100 a week - for that fee, our President (of the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce) Greg Koke, will sweep the streets of the downtown area - twice that week!
