On Monday, Dec. 14, the Corpus Christi boys third grade basketball team took a break from the hardwood and had a fun evening together watching the NY Islanders against the Florida Panthers at the Nassau Coliseum.
Corpus Christi Parish CYO’s youngest team has reached the halfway point of the 2009/2010 season and has really played with passion, heart, spirit and sportsmanship.
Head coach Ken Solosky is very proud of his team and the progress they have made. “We never played together as a team before and only had a few short weeks of practice before the season started yet the boys have worked extremely hard and had a lot of fun,” remarked Solosky.
The CYO program is an avenue to develop the athlete’s knowledge of, skills in, and love for sports as they strengthen their character and develop self-confidence. CYO and its members work together to promote good sportsmanship and fair play. Sportsmanship is the backbone of CYO.
“If you ever want to enjoy basketball at its purest, come and watch a CYO game. I guarantee it will put a smile on your face,” noted Solosky.
