Junior James Gerstner has nine goals and four assists in four games and is the leading scorer for the Mineola Mustangs’ boys varsity lacrosse team. He is the team’s top face-off guy, plays midfield and plays on the extra man offense unit. He was selected captain as a junior and was an All-Conference performer last year. Gerstner has led the team to a 3-1 record in the opening stages of the season.
Gerstner demonstrated a hardworking and positive attitude on and off the field. He is intense and competitive and works hard in the off season to prepare for competition.
In addition to being a standout lacrosse player James was also a member of the football and wrestling teams. Gerstner holds an academic average of 85 as a three-sport athlete.
