The Mineola Mustangs defeated Cold Spring Harbor by a score of 47-0. The scoring opened with a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Vinny Bienik to tight end Justin Oommen. The second score came after a nice drive with a with a fumble recovery in the endzone by Justin Oommen as the mustangs were running in for the score.
The score was 21-0 at the half on a pass from running back Kyle Dunleavy to Oommen on a fake sweep. The second half continued to go the Mustangs way as Ryan Eccher ran for a 45 yard touchdown (11 carries for 108 Yards) on the opening drive.
The scoring barrage just continued as Zach Vega ran for a 19-yard score, then Mike Sullivan ran for a 25-yard touchdown. Vega capped the game with a 12- yard run.
Sullivan Kicked four extra points and Rob Land had one. The offensive line of Christian Martin, Matt Lafaye, Phil Cuiffo, Victor Tineo, Matt Diaz, Matt Barroca and Edien Hincappie did a great job as the Mustang rushed for 338 yards and 5 touchdowns. Dom Paggi, Chris Brenes, Brian Greenberg, and Bruno Benitez also contributed to the offensive lines excellent play.
Bienik completed 7 out of 9 passes for 95 yards and 1 touchdown. He also ran three times for 53 yards.
Dunleavey (5-37 Yds), Lorenzo Gulinao (5-31 Yds), and Jacob Escobar (5-37 Yds) did a good job running the ball. Chris Lockwood caught two passes for 20 yards and Brian Smith Had one catch for 10 yards.
The defense was very stingy only giving up two first downs on the day. Defensive backs John Clancy, Chris Lockwood and Peter McCormack only allowed two completions during the game. Defensive Tackles Dan Mendes and Pat Brady along with defensive ends Hincappie, Leo Gorry and Diaz stopped the inside run. Linebackers Ryan Eccher and Eric Guardado lad the team in tackles.
