Albertson Athlete Honored

 The Liberty League announced that Albertson resident Michael Birk was one of five Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes selected to the All-league team. Birk placed on the second team.

 

Birk, a senior centerback and captain started 16 of the team’s 18 games this season, scoring two goals for four points. He has helped anchor a defense that allowed the second fewest goals in the Liberty League (12), as well as the third most shutouts (10). A graduate of Mineola High School, Birk is a multiple Liberty League all-academic selection.

 

Corpus Christi CYO Basketball

Boys and girls grades three to high school and K-2 clinic can register for CYO basketball. Practices and games start in September. Clinics will begin in December for kindergarten through second-grade. $125 Per child for travel teams/uniform additional $40, $90 Per child for k-2 clinic includes t shirt

MAA Fall Baseball Registration

The Mineola Athletic Association is offering baseball players in the 8U, 10U and 12U age groups the opportunity to continue playing the game and honing their skills throughout the Fall.  MAA Fall teams in these age groups will play in a league run by the Merillon Athletic Association. Teams will play an 8-game schedule which will begin after Labor Day and continue to the end of October.
