Mineola High School Track
Joe Mulder has evolved into one of the strongest distance runners on the Mineola cross country/track teams over the last four years. He is a prime example of a how a distance runner can become successful through perseverance, repetition, and attention to detail. Mulder has run countless long warm-ups, cool downs, summer runs, and Sunday runs that have accumulated into the success he’s experiencing this year.
When Mulder joined spring track as a freshman, he ran a 5:50 mile. Now as a senior, Joe has run a 4:52 mile. He got his first track distinction this winter when he was named all county for running on the 4x800m county championship team.
Mulder served as the lead off leg of the relay because of his tall, muscular frame and ability to be tough and competitive on a crowded 200-meter track.
Joe is continuing his success in spring track as a scorer in league meet competition in the mile, 800, and 4x800m relay events. He qualified for this year’s state championship in Middlebury, NY.
