Snow in October? The Chiefs 10-year-olds played at home last Sunday on a snow covered field at Tully Park and beat the Uniondale Knight’s 39-19. Even with the snow, it was all about the offense on this day as the Chiefs were hot and made the snow melt. This brings the Chiefs record to 5-1-1.
The Chiefs offensive line made the offense go, with their fundamentally sound blocking led by Kevin Parente, Patrick McTiernan, Anthony Giunta, Brandon Coward, Michael LaGinestra, Tight-ends Dylan Vincenti and Philip Arnold. The Chiefs Offense led by Quarterback Michael O’Connell (3 TD’s) and the quick running by Running Backs Lance Costa (1 extra-point), Naz Jackson (1 TD), Jack Duff and Matt Sluka (2 TD’s) moved the ball at will versus the Knights.
The Chiefs Defense was aggressive, making tackles all over the field. The Defensive Line of Matt Grimm, Joe Martello, Michael Sinisi, Spenser Warantz, King Welker, Joe Tallini, Joshua Jacob, Chris Dicanio and Ryan Calderone kept the pressure on Uniondale’s offense throughout the game. Cornerbacks and Safeties played lights out; they were lead by Andrew Casoria, Duff, Costa and Albig. The Linebackers O’Connell and Sluka attacked the ball and finished off the Knights.
