2011 New York Open TKD Championships

Y.H. Park TKD, will be hosting the 2011 New York Open Championships Korean Cultural Festival on Saturday Oct. 22 at the Chaminade High School Athletic Center, 311 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola. The event kicks off at 9 a.m.

The tournament will consist of competitive sparring, board breaking and forms as well as a Team Demo Competitions. Modern electronic scoring will be used for all competitors and one ring will feature Olympic style scoring. Highlighting this year’s event will be the Goodwill Exhibition Games between the national level team from New York facing off against rival Los Angeles. 

This exciting sports and cultural event will also feature seminars prior to and during the festival, Korean style food, and Korean Cultural Performances.

This event is recognized by the World TaeKwonDo Federation and sanctioned by the US TaekwonDo Leaders Union.  Additionally, the event has received the support of the Nassau County Government with the historic institution of the first ever “Nassau County TaeKwonDo Day” on the tournament date. In keeping with this important theme, the New York Open Organizing Committee will be selecting 10 Masters/Instructors for receipt of a special citation from Nassau County for their outstanding contributions to the success of the tournament.

In addition to the support of the Nassau County Government, The Korean Cultural Service of NY, AT Center New York, Flushing Savings Bank, Dynamics World, and Briarcliff College sponsor the event.
