Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt (East Meadow) in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services, will be sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 3 to 8:30 p.m. at the New Hyde Park Fire Department, 1555 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040.

Donors must have a valid I.D., weigh at least 110 pounds, be at least 16 years of age (16 year olds need parental consent, and those 76 years of age and older need a doctor’s note), eat well and be hydrated prior to appointment, and not have gotten a tattoo within the past 12 months (unless applied in New Jersey). Please call 1-800-688-0900 for further questions regarding medical eligibility.

“Blood is a precious resource that can save lives, and I encourage all community members to donate,” Assemblyman McKevitt said.

Those who wish to donate blood are asked to call Assemblyman McKevitt’s office at 739-5119 to schedule an appointment. There will be great raffle prizes from local vendors including Nail Sense, Café Baci, Uncle Bacala’s, Omega Diner, Gino’s Trattoria & Pizzeria, Sportloft, and the New York Islanders. Starbucks Coffee will be providing free coffee all day.
