Since its touchup, I find waiting for the train to head into New York City, parking in a spot to go to Nick’s (Station Plaza Diner), enjoying lunch on one of the benches or walking to the Recovery Room a true Mineola delight. Plus, there’s always someone with a guitar serenading the plaza with a tune, which makes for a nice atmosphere.
Plus, how funny is it to hear actor Alec Baldwin or New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora do public service announcements for the MTA? Also, there’s an Astoria Federal Savings Bank on the eastbound side of the tracks, which helps me out tremendously.
It never gets old at Station Plaza North…it only seems to get new.
