Joseph E. Connelly, of Mineola, died at the age of 85 on Oct. 19. Beloved husband of Marie, loving father of Regina Anderson, Elise Puig, Christopher Connelly and Andrew Connelly, cherished grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of four, Connelly was a WWII army veteran, member of American Legion Post #1718, Carle Place and former owner and operator of C&M Auto Service in Mineola.
He was an avid fisherman and Captain of El-Bo-Jo.

Nancy Foresto, a Mineola native, died on Sept. 29 at the age of 92.
Born in Italy, Foresto moved to Mineola as a young child. She attended Mineola High School and went on to work as a seamstress at a factory in Mineola.
Francis P. Lynch of Mineola passed away on Sept. 5. Beloved husband of the late Maureen. Devoted father of Francis Patrick Lynch, Jr., Kevin Barry Lynch and the late Ceceila Maureen. Patricia A. Broesler (nee Koss), on July 10, 2013, of Pitman, NJ formerly of Voorhees, NJ and Mineola, Long Island. Age 87. Beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Broesler. Bill Poss Sr. passed away on the morning of May 25. He was born on July 22, 1920 in Brooklyn. Poss, 82, was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Millie whom he married on Dec. 7, 1941.
He was a proud veteran of World War II having served three years as Master Sargent in the United States Army in the Pacific and a member of the American Legion for over 50 years.
Robert “Bob” Valli died May 30, at his home in New Hyde Park, after a three-year battle with brain cancer. He was 76. Valli was the consummate gentlemen, an accomplished businessman and enthusiastic volunteer. He will be remembered by family and friends as an avid golfer, fitness enthusiast, tri-athlete, sailor, and most of all a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
“Beth” Gonet, passed away on May 24 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington NJ following a brief illness. Former resident of New Hyde Park, until 2006 when she and her husband Henry, moved to Independence Manor in Flemington, NJ. Beth was predeceased by her husband, Henry, who passed in 2007.

Henry Dermigny of Jamesport died Jan. 21 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. He was 82-years-old.
Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Hempstead to Henry and Anne Dermigny, he had worked as a heavy-equipment operator in the Village of Mineola.
