The Mineola junior Fire Department recently held its 17th annual pasta dinner. More than 700 people attended the 2013 dinner.
Every year, the community joins together for the junior’s pasta dinner fundraiser. Many distinguish guests were present that included Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray was there to make a presentation to the junior fire department.
After Hurricane Sandy members of the junior fire department held a pancake breakfast for the victims of the storm which they brought gifts for the children and served food to the south shore residents who were in need of assistance.
At the dinner, parents, firefighters and volunteers from Chaminade High School and Kellenberg High School were there to lend a hand in serving food to the many people who attended the affair. The most popular station was the desert bar, with its many cakes puddings and the sundae bar.
