Wheatley junior Allison Chowdhury has been published in Tetrahedron, a scientific journal for the research she completed last summer. The article, “Microwave-assisted Diels-Alder reactions between Danishefsky’s diene and derivatives of ethyl alpha-(hydroxymethyl) acrylate and Synthetic approach toward a biotinylated anti-inflammatory monocyclic cyanoenone,” was published in the January 2013 volume. Chowdhury performed her work at Stony Brook University under the mentorship of Dr. Tadashi Honda and graduate student Suqing Zeng. She presented her research at the recent Long Island Science and Engineering Fair where she advanced to the second round.
