Miles For Melanoma 5K Run/Walk

At Eisenhower Park Field 2, East Meadow. Skin cancer, with a lifetime risk of 1 in 5 including deadly melanoma, risk of 1 in 50, is an epidemic. It is the most common form of cancer in adults 25-29 and second among 15-25 year olds. Register online or on-site starting 8:30 a.m. Run starts 10 a.m.; walk 10:30 a.m. A $20 donation by May 6 is requested. Under 12 free. After May 6, the donation is $25. Golf And Tennis Tournament

Family and Children’s Golf and Tennis Tournament will be held at the Creek Golf Course in Locust Valley. The tournament begins with brunch at 10:30 a.m. followed by an afternoon of play. Guests can hit the links with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start or they can choose to participate in a tennis tournament that begins at 1 p.m. The day rounds out with lunch at the ninth hole, an outdoor sunset cocktail reception and buffet at 5:30 p.m. that includes fabulous Chinese and silent auction prizes including: Premiere Yankee tickets, tickets to Broadway show, signed Harry Potter memorabilia, golf foursomes at LI’s best country clubs and more. •LI Center of Photography presents Color – Primary and Secondary. On view through May 15 at the PACE Gallery, 302 Willis Ave., Mineola. Photographers Karen Brocke and Diane Lugar set out to document these primary and secondary colors in everyday life. Objects both man-made and natural were photographed to help illustrate the combinations of the primary colors that create the secondary colors. In presenting their work, they attempt to explain visually the effects of color on all five of our senses.

•Viewpoints - Art of the Portrait. The show features a contemporary realist exhibit of the work of students with their inspiration, teacher Dan Slapo, master pastelist with the Pastel Society of America. Other artists exhibiting are: Nicole Adamonis, Suzie Alvey, Andrea Attias, Christine Ballow, Peggy Bayern, Brianna Burns, Colleen Burns, Kathy Burns, Keeley Burns, Joe Leonardo, Sieglinde Lubbers, Bob Lubbers, Nadine McCluskey, Pat Quinn,Ted Scholl and Theodora Zavala. Furniture Needed

The A.T. Stewart Exchange Consignment Shop, 109 Eleventh St., Garden City, is looking for furniture to add to its inventory. The shop can use cocktail tables, end tables, consoles, chairs of all types, dressers, dining room tables, breakfronts, servers, secretaries, mirrors, etc....it’s all in demand. If you have a particularly large piece, take a picture, and show it to Kris or Jill at the shop (516 746-8900). Consignees get 50 percent of the selling price. Parking is convenient because the shop is located on the lower level of the Garden City Historical Museum.
