Mildred S. Poss (nee Vantlander) died on March 7, 2009 at her home in Glenwood Springs, CO. She was born July 7, 1921 in Newark, NJ. She grew up in Ridgewood, NY. She married Bill Poss on December 7, 1941. They moved to Mineola in 1949, where they raised their two children, Barbara and Bill Jr. They opened and operated the Colonial Inn in Mineola before retiring to Ormond Beach, FL, in 1973. Millie worked part time in the Pine Trail School lunchroom as a monitor and at her church nursery school. She loved children. In 2006 they moved to Glenwood Springs, CO, to be near their family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill; her daughter, Barbara Soho Bleich of Ormond Beach and Glenwood Springs and her son Bill Jr. and his wife Jayne LaFountain of Aspen; three grandsons, Nick Soho, wife Jennifer Sands of Basalt, Bill Bleich of Fort Collins, Tate LaFountain of Aspen and granddaughter Page LaFountain Parsons and husband Chris of Carbondale. Millie was also great-grandmother of Wade Soho, Lila Soho and Jack Parsons. A celebration of her life will be held on July 7, 2009.
