A female suspect attempted to rob the HSBC Bank, located at 200 Old Country Road Mineola, but came away empty handed after a teller didn't comply with the request for cash.

According to police, on Monday, Jan. 12 at 10:15 a.m., the suspect, described as a black female, in her 20s and wearing a waist-length leather coat, gloves and large-framed glasses, entered the bank and handed the 22-year-old female teller a note demanding money.

The teller refused. The suspect then left the bank and fled on foot westbound on Old Country Road toward Mineola Boulevard.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous. Logo
