Leads Lions to Post-Season Tournament for First Time

Molloy College sophomore midfielder Mike Marques (Mineola, Class of 2007) has been named East Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 27. It is the second conference award for the Mustang alumnus after receiving a rookie of the week award in his freshman season last year. Marques was given the award for his two goal effort against the University of Bridgeport and goal against St. Thomas Aquinas College in leading the Lions to victory in both contests. Mike is fifth on the team in scoring with four goals and two assists in 13 starts this season. Marques was a member of the Mustangs 2005 state semi-finalist team and one of the most decorated soccer players in Mineola history.

In addition, Marques helped lead the Lions to the ECC post-season tournament for the first time in school history.

Fellow Mustang alumni Anthony Morais and Carlos Barros are also members of the Molloy roster.
