Every since May 23, Andrea Sangermano's life has been turned upside down. That's when she was arrested for "driving while abilities impaired" (DWAI) even though a breathalyzer confirmed she had no alcohol in her system and the results of a urine test later confirmed she had no illegal drugs in her system.

Mineola Mayor Jack M. Martins delivered his annual state-of-the-village address to the Mineola Chamber of Commerce last week. While the economy may be struggling, the mayor lauded the economic position the village is in, saying it is in excellent fiscal shape.

Mineola Mustangs Open Season with High Hopes
The Mineola Mustangs varsity football team opened the 2008 season with a very hard fought 6-0 loss to the second seeded Manhasset Indians. The Mineola defense was exceptional. With no score at the half, Manhasset had a total of seven yards on offense and not a single first down.
