Governor Proposes School Tax Cap
Patrick and Michele Martin have lived in their home on Stratford Avenue in Williston Park for four years. In those four years, the school taxes on their home, which is located within the borders of the Mineola School District, have gone from $3,525 in 2005 to $4,547 in 2008, an increase of 29 percent.
Most Survey Respondents Favor School Closing
The Mineola Board of Education discussed the results of a community survey sent out to gauge the community's feeling about reconfiguring the grades of the district and closing either one, two or three schools at its board meeting last week.
Mineola Daredevils Win First Game
The newly-formed boys U-7 tournament team, the Mineola Daredevils, had their first tournament. The three-game tournament, played at Island Trees, was great fun for all the participants.
