Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the Stop 24 Grocery, located at 130 East Jericho Turnpike in Mineola on Tuesday, March 25 at 11:52 p.m.
According to police, two males wearing black masks entered the grocery store with handguns and demanded cash from the register. Police said the suspects removed an undetermined amount of cash and fled westbound on Jericho Turnpike.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
A 51-year-old Valley Stream woman was arrested on a charge from scheming to defraud for allegedly soliciting donations for a fundraiser that had expired.
According to police, Stephanie Seitz is accused of illegally soliciting donations for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Foundation from four restaurants on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola.
According to police, Seitz allegedly entered those restaurants and presented a collection envelope she obtained from a legitimate school fundraiser from a school in Valley Stream, allegedly asking for cash donations.
Police said the fundraiser had expired in February. She was issued an appearance ticket.
