Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Thursday morning, March 27 at the Commerce Bank, located on the northeast corner of Jericho Turnpike and Herricks Road.
According to police, at 10:55 a.m. a suspect entered the bank and approached the teller. Police said that after the suspect displayed a silver handgun, he gave a note demanding cash.
The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot eastbound through the parking lot toward Beebe Road, police said.
There were no injuries and, at the time of the robbery, there were six employees and one customer present, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5'7'' tall, in his mid-30s and wearing a hooded-flannel jacket and black gloves.

This marks the second bank robbery that has occurred in Mineola within the last five weeks. Citibank, located at 199 East 2nd Street, was robbed on Feb. 23.
