Nassau Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the Mineola downtown area at Citibank, 199 2nd Street, located on the corner of 2nd Street and Mineola Boulevard on Saturday morning.
According to police, at 9:46 a.m. on Feb. 23, a male suspect entered Citibank and passed a note demanding money to a 20-year-old female teller. Police said the teller complied and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then exited the bank as he entered, through the side entrance door facing Mineola Boulevard, police said.
At the time of the robbery, there were no customers in the bank and six employees, police said. There was no weapon produced and no injuries reported, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5'6'' to 5'7'' tall and medium build, wearing blue jeans, a gray three-quarter-length overcoat, a gray scarf covering the lower portion of his face and a green baseball-type cap with earflaps and eyeglasses.
