The Corpus Christi fourth grade girl's basketball team completed their 2007-2008 CYO season on Jan. 5. This was the first season that the girls competed against other parishes in an instructional environment.
The girls had a very successful season. They worked extremely hard in practice to learn the rules as well as several plays, which they were able to execute successfully during our games. Each and every girl also developed her skills and sense of teamwork. Most importantly, the girls had fun. Based upon the progress made in one short season, the future looks very bright for the Corpus Christi girls CYO program!
Rebecca Benintendi, Marissa Buonincontro, Mallory Donellan, Shannon Durham, Erin Gruppe, Samantha Henrichs, Teresa Holliday, Hannah Kearney, Cara Kennedy, Meghan LaFaye, Allison LaMonica, Bailey Lubrano, Julianne Ortiz, Carolina Parada, Christen Patalano and Meaghan Smoak all played very well throughout the season.
Coaches Tom Kennedy and Jim LaMonica would like to thank all the parents for their support, assistant coaches John Kearney, Greg LaFaye and Diego Ortiz for their valuable contributions and, most importantly, the girls for making this an enjoyable and memorable season.
