Sleet and freezing rain limited the usual number of people who went to the Christmas concert of Lou Panacciulli's Nassau Pops at Chaminade. Yet the auditorium was about three-fourths filled. Some of the concertgoers later had dinner at the Davenport as did Bob and Pat Hinck, Joe McCarthy and Hilda Nagler. Also dining at the restaurant were Faust and Maryann Guarino. Maryann was formerly from Mineola.

Frances Doyle was upset with the news that the Jericho Diner might be forced to move. She has been going there since it was the old Dixie Diner of Jim Trucks and then became the Dorian Diner. Frances and her husband, Eugene, live in Uniondale now but for 45 years they resided on Wilson Boulevard. Frances keeps up with her old hometown and participates in the Mustang Run along with her husband. The Doyles are friends of Judge Scott Fairgrieve and join him in the fight against drunk driving.
