The Village of Mineola obtained a temporary restraining order against Nassau County in the county's proposal to relocate probation department employees from the old Department of Social Services building, located at 101 County Seat Drive, to a parking lot just south of 400 County Seat Drive, which houses the Nassau County Board of Elections and Matrimonial Center, in the court complex in Mineola. The Village of Mineola lost one of the pillars of the community who contributed greatly to his country and the village when Isadore "Izzy" Irace died on Sept. 25, 2007 at the age of 87.
