I have had the privilege of serving on the Mineola Board of Education for nearly two and half years, and recently resigned from that position. Although it had been my plan to serve a complete term, family situations have arisen which make it impossible for me to continue as a board member at this time.

I have received some inquires from community members regarding my resignation - a few, in fact, have expressed concern that I resigned due to issues that the board is currently reviewing. This could not be farther from the truth. Rest assured that I have been satisfied with the board's reviews and decisions as long as I have served with them. Although there are certainly many tough issues, I have felt, and continue to feel, nothing but confidence that the current board is honorable and worthy to serve our children's interest.

I am flattered to say that many people have expressed their wish for my continued service. Although that is not possible now, I do wish to pledge my continued service as an active parent in the community. I extend my sincere thanks to my fellow board members for their help and support, and to the members of the community who extended me their confidence.
