Village to Hold 9-11 Ceremony
The Village of Mineola will hold a ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 11 to honor those who were lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in Mineola's Memorial Park at the 9/11 monument. The village has invited the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts to participate. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mustang Soccer Primed for Another Successful Playoff Run
Despite graduating two of the more legendary soccer players in Mineola High School lore, head coach Paul Pereira is confident his reign among Long Island's elite soccer programs will continue. A roster full of local Division I and premier club players assures a commitment to excellence established by former All-State striker Gustavo Dias and All-County midfielder Michael Marques, who will now ply their trade as scholarship players at Molloy College. The Mustangs have built a solid nucleus to defend their Conference I title as Nassau County's top seed when the season begins with the ninth annual Mustang Cup on September 7 and 8 at Mineola High School.
