Residents and business owners in Mineola already know of the dedication and valuable volunteerism the firefighters of the Mineola Fire Department routinely display. Several of the firefighters are also conscientious and quick thinking in their everyday jobs as well.

Once again this year the County Seat Kiwanis Club sponsored Kiwanis Day for the campers of the Mineola Summer Recreation Program. On July 27, campers enjoyed a day of relay races and sporting events followed by the barbecue.

On July 24, the Mineola Summer Recreation Program campers participated in water-slide day. The slides were brought in and set up at Wilson Park. All those who participated had a good time as it was a very hot day.
