Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I-East Meadow) will be hosting his First Annual "Women of Distinction" ceremony to honor outstanding women from the 17th Assembly District.

"This prestigious award gives our community the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of all the extraordinary women who make our community a safer, better place to live," said McKevitt. "This ceremony is an opportunity to tell these amazing women that their tireless work and unwavering commitment to family, friends and neighbors have not gone unnoticed."

The awards will be presented on Saturday, August 18 at the VFW Post #5253 in Albertson, with a reception to follow. Nominees must be residents of the 17th Assembly District. Nominations are due by Wednesday, August 1.
