Mineola Village Board to Consider Reassessment
Reassessment is a dirty word in Nassau County. That's because many residents have found their county assessments, which determine each individual property owner's share for county, town and school taxes, growing each year since the county conducted since 2003. But the Village of Mineola uses its own system of assessment for property owners within the borders of the village to determine each property's share of the village tax burden. Now, the village board will be considering whether to reassess village properties in an effort to relieve residential property owners from paying for successful tax certiorari claims by business property owners.

Mineola Fair This Saturday
The Mineola Fair, sponsored by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce and Incorporated Village of Mineola, will take place on Saturday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Mineola Memorial Park.

On Wednesday, May 2, the Cardinals recorded their fist win of the season over the White Sox in a well-played 4-3 game. The game began as a pitcher's dual between Connor Smith for the Cardinals and Chris Fischer for the White Sox with the Cardinals leading 1-0 after three innings. Both teams broke through with three runs each in the fourth inning. For the White Sox, Nicholas Brown had a solo homerun and Andrew Giordano had a triple, driving in two runs. For the Cardinals, Stephen Gallo drove in two runs with a double and Joseph Egan drove in what would be the winning run with a single. Thomas Moran and Robert Lang each pitched scoreless innings to close out the victory for the Cardinals

Mustang Student-Athletes Earn Scholarships
The Mineola Athletic Department and school community congratulate Katie Carter, Lauren Mobyed, Kristin Mobyed, Gustavo Dias, Michael Marques and Mick Oswald as they have all been awarded athletic scholarships to compete at the college level in their respective sports.
