EWGA LI (Executive Women's Golf Association, Long Island Chapter) invites members and nonmembers to a light supper and a seminar on "Golf for Business Success" on Monday, April 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital's DeMatteis Center for Cardiac Research & Education, Northern Blvd (Rte. 25A). Old Brookville (LIE Exit 39N, located two lights east of Glen Cove Road).
"Golf For Business Success" is a fabulous opportunity to learn how to use golf to increase your business opportunities and to network with other businesswomen. Former marketing-exec-turned-LPGA-pro Leslie Andrews and former advertising executive Adrienne Wax, of Golfing Women, discuss the ways women can learn to leverage golf for business.
Topics to include:
• Exposing the myths and revealing the realities - how women create hurdles that prevent them from getting on-course, and strategies for overcoming those hurdles.
• How to get the invite - making the powers-that-be aware that you play golf can be a hard first step - learn some easy tips to get the word out and make yourself a much-desired golf partner.
• Learn numerous ways to execute effective business golf-even if you don't belong to a private club.
• Understanding golf etiquette - know why etiquette is important and how you can avoid the etiquette pitfalls that can undermine an otherwise successful day.
• The top five rules you need to know to get you through the day.
• How to take the next step - exactly how does golf translate into business?
• Learn how to get started in/get better at the game and how to find a good teaching pro.
Advance registration is required by April 10. $25 for members; $35 for non-members. For more information, call Jane Gallagher, social events committee chair at 485-0550.
