Ruth Tenney-Seidman, a native of Mineola since her birth at Winthrop Hospital in 1922, died on Feb 8, 2007 in North Carolina. She was beloved wife of 61 years to Robert Tenney. Her father Meyer Seidman and mother Gussie Seidman were tailors on Main Street in the early 1900s. They came to this country via Ellis Island from Lithuania. Her parents raised their family in Mineola and remained until their death. Meyer in 1957 and Gussie in 1984.

Ruth touched the lives of many through her community service to children, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her four loving daughters, Darien, Marie , Robin and Myra; 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Morris Seidman of Wantagh. Ruth was loved and respected by all who knew her. She will always remain in our hearts and she will never be forgotten. We love you, mom.
