Hats off to Mayor Jack Martins for providing such excellent leadership during this latest chapter of Mineola's efforts to improve public safety. I watched the Feb. 7 presentation of the "five point plan" on channel 18 and was impressed by the way Mayor Martins handled the proceedings. He gave each trustee time to make their presentations, listened and responded to comments, and then efficiently resolved to move forward with the few points that were seen to have merit, while respectfully dismissing the other points. I like elected officials that display that kind of sensitivity, intelligence and common sense. Jack Martins is a true leader, and I am proud to call him our Mayor.
