A streetscape improvement project to beautify Jericho Turnpike, both the north and south sides between Willis Avenue and Mineola Boulevard, is scheduled to begin on March 1 and be completed by May 31.

Five Point Plan Down to Two Points
The Mineola Village Board of Trustees discussed its five-point plan on public safety last Wednesday night and decided collectively that three of the points in the plan were not feasible. The board though will move forward with two of the plan's initiatives - forming a neighborhood watch program and a lobbying effort to attempt to secure additional police coverage from the county.

Wheatley Athletic Hall of Fame To Induct Three Alumni Members
At The Wheatley School Winter Sports Awards Program on March 6, three former student-athletes will be inducted into the Wheatley Athletic Hall of Fame. These alumni were selected for induction in recognition of the outstanding contributions they made to the Wheatley athletic program and for their exemplary athletic performance throughout their high school careers.

Corpus Christi Seventh Grade Girls Team Goes Undefeated
The Corpus Christi seventh grade girlís basketball team ended its season in fine fashion by winning the annual St. Vincent DePaul basketball tournament. The girls were undefeated in winning all three games over the weekends of January 20 and 27.
