Mineola Mayor Speaks to Garden City Chamber
Mineola and Garden City are two distinct villages but there are some concerns they both share. Last week, at a luncheon of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, Mineola Mayor Jack M. Martins spoke about taxes, the proposal for a Long Island Rail Road third track and the Nassau County HUB.

Let the Campaign Begin
The campaign is on and it figures to be a heated one. The Hometown Party nominated Trustee Linda Fairgreive to run for mayor and Peggy May to run for trustee. The mayor's and two trustees' positions are up for re-election. Mayor Jack M. Martins and Trustees Larry Werther and John DaVanzo have already announced that will be seeking re-election.

Mineola to Host County Wrestling Championships
The Mineola boys wrestling team will host the Nassau County Championships on Saturday, Feb. 17 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Mineola High School gymnasium. Winners from this tournament will advance to the Long Island finals to be held at C.W. Post.

Corpus Christi Drops Close One to OLP
The Corpus Christi 7th grade boys (5-1) took on Our Lady of Peace (5-1) in a match-up of first place teams at Corpus Christi. It was a see-saw battle the entire game with Our Lady of Peace (OLP) coming out victorious with a buzzer beater 43-42.
