If They Build It...
The agreement between the village and the developer, American Sports Management, would have the developer construct a state-of-the-art outdoor field and a state-of-the-art indoor field under a bubble. The village would retain ownership of the property and would lease it to the developer. The developer would also have to agree to give the village time on the fields so that the village could then issue permits for the MAA and PAL. In the times when the fields aren't in use for the village, American Sports Management could rent them out to leagues that are looking for fields to play on.

Superintendent Delivers State-of-District Address
Mineola School District Superintendent of School Dr. Larry Licopoli delivered his annual state-of-the-district address at Thursday's meeting of the Mineola Board of Education. In the address, Dr. Licopoli said that the district's house is in order when it comes to finances and there are no excuses for not meeting quality operational of academic performance.

St. Aidan's Jaspers Take NYIT Floor
The St. Aidan's Jaspers, a talented group of seventh grade CYO hoopsters, were recently invited guests of Coach Sal Lagano's New York Institute of Technology Running Bears during a holiday week contest at newly renovated Recreation Hall on the Old Westbury campus. The Jaspers, coached by Owen Kelly and Chris Paggi, have had a rough start to their league season but put on an outstanding show for the spectators attending NYIT's exciting 73-71 victory over non-conference stalwart University of Massachusetts - Lowell.

Corpus Christi Improves to 5-1
On Saturday Jan.13, the seventh grade Lions from Corpus Christi took their 4-1 record and faced St. Frances of Wantagh in front of a packed house and with the Corpus Christi cheerleaders, under the direction of Diane Maher and Cheryl Monaco, present and very vocal.
