All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in a competition for the 2007 Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council 2502 Free Throw Championship. The competition will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 pm at the Corpus Christi School Gym at 120 Searing Avenue in Mineola, which is one block south of Corpus Christi Church, east of Willis Avenue. The Mineola varsity basketball team took to the floor of the "World's Most Famous Arena." The Mustangs took on Bellmore-JFK on Dec. 27 in an afternoon game during the Christmas break. About 400 spectators were in attendance. Each player was responsible for ticket sales to subsidize the event. Bellmore-JFK presented each Mustang player with a long-sleeve T-shirt commemorating the event as a thank you for the opportunity to play in the legendary arena. FULL STORY
