Village Board to Get Moving on Safety Plan
Last week, the village board approved a five-point public safety plan to address issues that were brought up during the police hearings. The plan was proposed by Trustees Linda Fairgrieve and Paul Cusato and approved unanimously.

The Village of Mineola Board of Trustees unanimously passed a law last week that sets restrictions on where a registered sex offender can take up residence within the boundaries of the Village of Mineola.

Knights of Columbus Free-Throw Contest
All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in a competition for the 2007 Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council 2502 Free Throw Championship. The competition will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 pm at the Corpus Christi School Gym at 120 Searing Avenue in Mineola, which is one block south of Corpus Christi Church, east of Willis Avenue.

Mineola HS Varsity Basketball Team Plays at MSG
The Mineola varsity basketball team took to the floor of the "World's Most Famous Arena." The Mustangs took on Bellmore-JFK on Dec. 27 in an afternoon game during the Christmas break. About 400 spectators were in attendance. Each player was responsible for ticket sales to subsidize the event. Bellmore-JFK presented each Mustang player with a long-sleeve T-shirt commemorating the event as a thank you for the opportunity to play in the legendary arena.
