Last Wednesday afternoon, a police vehicle was hit on the Roslyn Road tracks by an eastbound Long Island Railroad train. Fortunately, there were no injuries and the vehicle suffered minimal damage. However, the railroad was delayed approximately one hour and 45 minutes.

According to police, Third Precinct Police Officer Gregory Fenn, while on patrol in Radio Motor Patrol 335, was assisting a disabled motorist in the northbound lane of Roslyn Road, where it intersects the Long Island Rail Road track, at 3:55 p.m. on Wedneday, Nov. 15.

Police said that Officer Fenn was outside the police vehicle attaching jumper cables when an eastbound LIRR train struck the car.
