On December 5, the questions voters need to ask themselves are, "Do you feel safe in your community with the protection provided by the Nassau County Police?" If you feel safe, why pay more for a village police force?

I have attended many of the village meetings regarding the concept of a village police department. The recurrent theme appears to be that a village police force may be able to provide more traffic enforcement that might bring in more revenue in fines from moving violations and parking summonses.

I have yet to have the opportunity to read a detailed needs assessment report to determine if a village force is even warranted or an operational plan to determine what the true costs for a village force might be.
