Wheatley Athletic Department Starts Volleyball Program
The Wheatley Athletic Department is pleased to announce that volleyball will be introduced into its athletic program. The East Williston Board of Education has given approval to create this first-ever program, which will be started immediately. Wheatley will field a middle school girls volleyball team during the upcoming Winter I sports season. The team's first practice will be on Nov. 6 and the competitive season will start on Friday, Dec. 1, with a match against Westbury. Funding for the creation of this volleyball team became available only after this fall's JV field hockey program was cancelled due to a low turnout.
