Audit Reveals No Checks and Balances
A forensic audit of the Mineola School District's Capital Account and Microband Account from the time period of 1999 through 2004 revealed that a system of checks and balances with regard to district purchasing was severely lacking. The firm that conducted the audit also deemed 10 to 15 vendors the district dealt with during that time to be "suspicious."

Police Referendum Set For December 5

Marching Band Parade of Chamipons Home Show Oct. 21
Mineola Marching Band Parade of Champions Home Show will be held on Oct. 21, beginning at 5:50 p.m. at Tully Park, Evergreen Avenue, New Hyde Park (off Denton), under the direction of Anthony Romeo and Joe Owens. Please show your support with the communities of Long Island for these exceptionally talented bands. The hottest toy, a new TMX Tickle Me Elmo, will be raffled off at the show along with other prizes. The vendor-Musically Inclined-will be selling clothing and accessories for music lovers and instrument players. Enjoy the food along with Long Island's 12 marching bands and the U.S. Marine Corp performance. Admission is $6.
