The boys of summer finished off their season in grand fashion. Harry Katz ran the table with a 3-0 record in the playoffs and an 11-3 overall record. The playoff run began with a 9-6 win over Teem Plumbing & Heating. Game two was a real play off classic against Vinyl Seal that went into extra innings, but the boys from Harry Katz came out on top when Matt Stephens singled and Nick Sarno moved him into scoring position. D.J. DeRosa drove him in to win the game in the bottom of the 9th inning.

The championship game was a rematch between Harry Katz and Vinyl Seal. Harry Katz got a strong effort on the mound from two of their hottest pitchers, Kapela and Eccher. Tyler Kapela shut down Vinyl Seal for 4 innings with 8 strikeouts, 1 hit and no earned runs. Matthew Eccher closed out the game by going 2 innings with 4 strikeouts, 2 hits and no earned runs.

At the plate, Matt Wetzel led off the game with a walk as did the number 2 hitter Robby Dwyer. Speedy Matt Wetzel scored the game's first run on Matt Eccher's single. One of the playoffs hottest hitters Matt Stephens came to the plate and singled in Robby Dwyer. Tyler Kapela hit a 3rd inning double to score Glen Peters. In the 4th inning, P.J. Kelly put down a perfect bunt for a hit to score Peter Ciuffo. Harry Katz held Vinyl Seal to two runs for a 4-2 win in a very well-played game.

It was a great year of baseball for Harry Katz. The boys really came together as a team. Danny Willis had some key hits throughout the year and Anthony Franzini helped out with his ability to play infield and outfield to make Harry Katz a strong defensive team. Manager, Ken Eccher, coaches, Frank Kapela, Bob Dwyer, Jim Kelly and Roy Stephens would like to thank the boys for their hard work and let them know it was a great opportunity to have worked with them.
