Angelo Plaia, of Mineola, died on July 28, 2006. He was an alumni, coach and teacher at Lafayette High School, Brooklyn. A Korean War veteran, US Army 1st lieutenant, he was a graduate of NYU and Columbia University. He was a former trustee and president of the Corpus Christi School Board and a member of K of C Corpus Christi Council. Husband of Mary Ann (nee Gerace) for 50 years. Father of Nina (Dave) Petersen, Vincent (Jeanne), Katherine (Tim) McNught and Maryann (Tom) Doyle. Grandfather of Christopher, Katherine, Elizabeth, Brian, Erik, Christina, Billy, Mary Kate, Michael and James. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
