Blanche Paris, the unofficial oldest living resident of Mineola, died on Monday at the age of 101. Paris was a resident of Mineola for nearly six decades.

Coast Guard Auxiliary to Boaters: 'Water Toys' Are Not Toys at All
Concerned about recent deaths and injuries reported in New York, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary wants to remind boaters that so-called "water toys" - Personal Watercraft (PWCs), tube toys, wakeboards and water skis - are not toys at all, and failure to exercise proper safety precautions while using them can result in severe injury or even death.

Kids Golf Outing to Benefit CMF
Children's Medical Fund of New York has been named the new benefactor for the Kids Golf for Kids Charities' 3rd annual Outing (www.kidsgolf4kidscharities.com). Kids Golf is an organization that was started two years ago in 2004 by Brian Burstein, 19 and David Burstein 16, of Lake Success. They wanted to find a way to help children on Long Island while doing what they love, golf. They found the answer, they started the kids golf charity and created a kids only golf outing.
