The Lady Mustangs under first year Coach Gerry Armengau finished a challenging season with a 6-12 record and a 5-8 mark in league, good for ninth overall.

The team was led by captains Nicole Reardon, Roseanne Mercurio, Nicole DeStefano and Kelly Munson. Mercurio is the only player on the team to have played at the varsity level for four years.

Valuable contributions were made by everyone, including Winnie Ouyang, Jill Shanahan, Danielle Rivera, Erika Privat, Cassie Olivos and Amanda Buehler.

The team was led offensively by Reardon, who hit .468 with three home runs and 22 stolen bases. "Nicole is a player to watch in the coming years in Nassau County," said Armengau.

Mercurio and sophomore Regina LaCourte earned All-Division honors. Reardon earned her second All-Conference award in two years. Mercurio was also selected for the leadership award while Alyssa Palma earned the most improved player award.

"We were a very inexperienced team, but gave each and every game maximum effort. Throughout the year, we were plagued by many injuries, which forced us to play people at different positions. The girls played well and improved every game. I am proud of the effort and look forward to building on what we have started this year," said Coach Armengau.
