On April 11, Mineola High School hosted its second Annual Career Fair. It was a very exciting evening with more than 40 presenters and almost 200 students attending. It was wonderful to see so many of the district's own residents and neighbors collaborating in presenting a wide array of career opportunities to our students. Obviously, a day like this cannot take place without a great deal of effort and time. Though the idea of the Career Fair was created by the Mineola High School Site-Based Team, it was because of the hard work of the guidance department, and most particularly, guidance counselor Karen Ciesla, that the event was such a huge success. Ms. Ciesla's commitment and dedication to this project is most commendable and appreciated.
In addition, we would also like to acknowledge and thank all the individual and company presenters, many of whom are residents of Mineola, for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for their careers to our students. It is our goal to continue to work with the district to build bridges to those businesses and residents in our own community . Mineola residents and businesses have much to offer to our students with its vast resource of knowledge. As the district's mission includes "inspiring students to be life-long learners", we believe that important learning opportunities are also found outside of the high school, right in our own community. In keeping with that commitment, those companies and/or individuals who are interested in developing internship opportunities or employment opportunities with Mineola High School, to kindly contact the guidance office at 516-237-2650.
Again, thank you to all for making the Career Fair such a success! We hope to see you all again next year.
