It is once again time for the Mineola Fair as the community will come together at Memorial Park for a day filled with meeting neighbors and local merchants, representatives from the different organizations in Mineola, non-stop entertainment and crafts.

The fair will be held on Saturday, May 20 at Mineola Memorial Park, rain or shine, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Mineola Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Mineola co-sponsor this event every year.

The fair in this Mineola centennial year will feature craft exhibits, rides, petting zoo, a Civil War re-enactment, extensive historical photographs of Mineola, non-stop entertainment, food, soft drinks, pie eating contest and most of all, a family fun day.

Anyone wishing to become a major sponsor, display crafts, become a volunteer, or for more information, call 408-3554.

11-11:50 a.m. - Music by The Long Island Harmonica Club

11:50 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - Dance Dynamics, Inc. - Dance Demonstration

12:15-12:30 p.m. - Beautiful Baby Contest at the Main Stage

12:30-1 p.m. - Mineola Middle School Chamber Ensemble, Director - Kristen Degnan

1-1:20 p.m. - Mineola High School Chamber Ensemble, Director - Tracey Campbell

1-1:30 p.m. - Rescue Demonstration - Mineola Fire Department, Jack Gayson, Chief

1:20-1:45 p.m. - Mineola High School Accapella Singers, Director - Meg Messina

1:45-2 p.m. - Mineola High School Vocal Jazz Singers, Director - Meg Messina

2-2:15 p.m. - Mineola High School Marching Band, Director - Harold Watson

2:15-2:40 p.m. - Opening Ceremony, The National Anthem sung by Chet Easton, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church; God Bless America sung by Katie Barnwell. American Legion Mineola Memorial Post #349 & Veterans of Foreign Wars of the US Private Adolph Block Post 1305.

2:40-2:45 p.m. - Water Balloon Toss Contest in front of the stage

2:30-4:30 p.m. - Tea & Music in the Library; Afternoon Tea with Friends of the Library

2:45-3:05 p.m. - Mineola Middle School Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Director - Don Carreras

3:05-3:30 p.m. - Mineola High School Jazz Band, Director - Harold Watson

3:30-3:50 p.m. - Mineola Middle School AM Jazz Band, Director - Anthony Romeo

3:50-4p.m. - Mineola Middle School PM Jazz Band, Director - Don Carreras

4-4:20 p.m. - Pie Eating Contest in front of the stage

4:20-5 p.m. - Rock n' Roll Music by "The Early Bird Special"

5-5:05 p.m. - 50/50 Raffle Drawing - Half the money collected goes to the winner & half donated to help fund Chamber of Commerce Projects

5:05-5:45 p.m. - Portuguese Dancers

6 p.m. - Fair Ends
